“That's the problem with the voting. We vote at the beginning of the year and don't (change) votes at the end of the year. I would hope in the future we would pick the four best teams at the end of the year and play them off and have a true national champion.”

“The more games you play, the more chance you have of playing a bad game on offense. Your defense can play good every week as long as they play hard. It's a lot easier to play defense than it is offense.”

“That is football. You have got to execute and tonight the kicking game wasn't there for us. They ran that punt back, we made a mistake but that's part of it.”

“We have a couple more curtain calls before the final song. We will have to make another statement the next two-to-three weeks.”

“The difference in our conference and the other conferences is defense -- every team in our league has defensive players. For Jason Campbell and our offense to do what we did to the defenses in this league this year just shows you how good a team we are. We're a well-balanced team that hasn't taken a week off all year.”

“They've had an abundance of talent in the state of Louisiana, and Nick did a good job of keeping it in-state. So I'm envious in some ways, in that [Miles] is walking in to all that talent. But I'm not envious in other ways -- everyone's going to be picking them to win the conference, and no one's picked that right in years.”

“We wanted to see if we could run it and see if we could stop the run.”
